Privacy Policy & Terms

This policy explains what JMTW Inc. DBA The Hertz Group (“we”) collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to thehertzgroup.com and to the forms on it.

Information You Give Us

When you submit a form on this site, we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that is:

• Your name: first and last name, collected as two separate fields.
• Contact details: email address and phone number.
• What you are trying to do: the property address you asked us to value, your timeframe, the type of inquiry, the listing you were viewing, and any message you write.
• Your consent: whether you checked the box agreeing to be contacted, and the date and time you did.

We only collect what a form asks for. We do not ask for a Social Security number, date of birth, bank or card details, or any government identification anywhere on this website, and you should never send those to us by email.

Information Collected Automatically

When you first arrive we record how you got here: the website or search engine that referred you, any campaign information in the link you clicked, the first page you landed on, and the date. This tells us which of our marketing actually works.

That information is stored in your own browser’s local storage under a single key. It is not a cookie, it is not shared with an advertising network, and it holds nothing that identifies you personally: a referring website name and a campaign label. It reaches us only if you choose to submit a form, so we can tell where an inquiry came from. Clearing your browser data removes it.

If you scan the QR code on one of our printed mailers, the short link it opens records that the code was scanned and when, the kind of device (for example iPhone or Android), and the approximate city your phone’s network reports. It also sets one small cookie, used only by those short links, holding a random number so we can tell a first scan from a repeat. None of this identifies you: we never record your IP address or your exact location, the cookie is not read anywhere else on this website, it is not shared with anyone, and it expires after a year.

If you hang door hangers for us with our Door Hangers app (on the web, or the Door Hangers iPhone app), the app uses your phone’s precise location only while you are clocked in, and never on a break or after you clock out. It uses it to mark the homes you reach, save the route you walk and keep your time log for pay. On the iPhone app this continues while your phone is locked, until you clock out. It is stored with the helper name we gave you, seen only by our team, never sold or shared, and never used for advertising.

Signing In With Google

You can make an account on this site, or sign in to it, with your Google account. Our team signs in to our office workspace the same way. When you do, Google tells us only your name, your email address and your profile picture. We do not see your Google password, and we do not read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, files or anything else in your Google account.

We use your name and email address to create and open your account, to save the homes and searches you ask us to keep, and to send the emails you choose. We do not keep or use your profile picture. We store this information with the rest of your account, we never sell it, and we never share it with advertisers. To have your account and this information deleted, email us or call (714) 865-6569 and we will remove it. You can also remove our access at any time from your Google account’s security settings.

How We Use It

• To answer your inquiry and provide real estate services.
• To contact you about buying, selling or valuing property, only if you gave consent, and only by the methods you agreed to.
• To send market updates or new listings, if you asked for them.
• To understand which marketing channels bring us inquiries.
• To meet our legal and real estate licensing obligations.

Calls, Texts and Emails

Checking the consent box on a form is your express written consent to be contacted by The Hertz Group by phone call, text message and email about real estate services, including by automated means. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

You can withdraw it at any time. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or HELP for help. Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop emails. Or call (714) 865-6569 and ask us. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

We keep an internal do-not-contact list and honor it. If you ask us to stop, we stop.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

We share it only with:

• Our own agents, so that someone can actually help you.
• Service providers who run things on our behalf: website hosting, our customer relationship system, email delivery, and only so they can perform that service for us.
• Parties to your transaction, if you become a client: escrow, title, a lender, a co-operating broker.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

Property Listings

Listing information on this site is provided by California Regional Multiple Listing Service under license. It is deemed reliable but not guaranteed, and it is provided for consumers’ personal, non-commercial use: it may not be used for any purpose other than identifying properties you may be interested in purchasing. Listing photographs remain the property of their owners and are displayed under that license.

Your Choices

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

We do not sell your personal information. The law also covers “sharing”, which means something narrower than it sounds: passing information to another company so it can advertise to you across other websites. The only thing on this site that comes near that is Google Analytics, and it does not run at all unless you say yes to it: nothing tracks you on a first visit, and nothing ever does if you decline.

If you said yes and want to change your mind, there is a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link at the bottom of every page. One click switches it off on that device, straight away, with nothing further to confirm. The Cookie preferences link beside it reopens the original question if you would rather see both options again.

Security and Retention

We take reasonable steps to protect what you give us, but no website or system is perfectly secure. We keep inquiry records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed brokerage.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Other Websites

We link to other sites: social profiles, review platforms, our magazine feature. Once you leave this site this policy no longer applies, and we are not responsible for how those sites handle your information.

Terms of Use

This site is provided for information. Nothing on it is legal, tax or financial advice, and nothing on it is an offer. Home valuations and mortgage calculations shown here are estimates for guidance only: they are not appraisals, not loan approvals, and not a promise of price or terms. Property details and availability change constantly, so confirm anything you intend to rely on.

The design, text and photography of this site belong to us or to our licensors, except for MLS listing content, which is licensed as described above.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the review date at the top of this page.
